Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin is taking a break prior to the beginning of "Dancing With the Stars" -- by taking her children to see a performer who once appeared on the show.
The reality TV mom was spotted out on Friday with her dance partner Tony Dovolani and bodyguard Steve Neild as she prepared to take the kids to a Taylor Swift concert in Philadelphia. Swift is of course one of the most popular young performers in America, and her performance of "You Belong With Me" also earned her a number of awards at the Grammys earlier this year.
While Kate hasn't exactly shared her public thoughts on Swift, Tony was quick to admit to one thing on his Twitter page Friday: "Taylor Swift rocks."
Both Kate and Tony are now in Los Angeles getting set for Monday night's two-hour "Dancing" premiere. Will this recent break away from rehearsals end up hurting them? It will depend, since really much of the performance will teeter on how many votes they manage to pull in from the American public.

Oh, Okay, so she took her kids to see Taylor Swift. Is that supposed to make everyone believe that she does spend time with her kids? Please! How is that spending quality time with them? They are at a concert. I am sick of this woman.
She takes them out to a concert because she knows the cameras are filming. She is only doing it because she wants the public to believe that she is a "good mom". I don't buy it for a second. Kate loves Kate and nothing more. She knows that if she spent quality time in her own home with her children that the cameras wouldn't be there. She wants the public to accept her and if that means risking a dance rehearsal then she'll risk it, however there are many angry mothers out there who just want her to go away. She is a fake and a liar. She can dance and sing and say that she is doing it for her children all she wants to, but that doesn't change the fact that she has exploited her children and continues to neglect them. Sick excuse for a mom.
Also, Kate thinks that everyone loves her, however she doesn't realize the many people see her in a negative light rather than a positive one. People are only going to watch Dancing with stars either because they love the show or to make fun of her. Kate doesn't realize how ridiculous she looks. Everyone knows that she has 8 children at home and wonder what she is doing on television with 8 children at home. Neglect, Neglect, Neglect. Call anything you want Kate. It is neglect, plain and simple. She likes to call it "providing for her children". bawahaahahahha!!!!
I never, ever watched DWTS before, but I am watching it this year because of Kate. And, I am voting for her, and I hope that she is a great success. She is a single parent working "mom", and I am cheering her on for all single parent working moms trying to make a better life for their kids!

Just another pr stunt. They probably got free seating due to Taylor and Kate on the view and Kate approached her! Kate made sure cameras would be around. She got her dancing time in anyway. Looks like Tony is living in the garage apartment, Kate was seen visiting that garage apartment-wonder why? And she talks about Jon, this woman is a poor example for a mom! She wanted her life this way, the children and Jon just wanted a family. Kate gave them up just as she gave up her Parents and other family to her selfish mean ways. I hope she breaks something for all the terror she caused her whole family. Hope the children will be taken away from her to!
I actually never liked Jon; He was the conniving one of the two and the big hypocrite and circumstances totally reveal his true nature, which is a liar, lazy pig, womanizer, user, stupid etc. His first love is himself and he has shown that how he can easily move far away from his children instead of buying a home nearby to see and take care of them, which is his duty, but NO he moves 3000. This was definately a PR stunt so that it looks like she spends time with her kids. I don't think any intelligant person will buy this stunt. I feel bad for Tony, who got stuck with Kate Gosselin as a partner. He must be feeling all the pressure from all the negative press Kate gets. I'm sure Kate didn't pay one cent from her own pocket to take her kids to the concert. When have you ever seen Kate,(or Jon for that matter),take their kids on any kind of family vacation or day trip were it didn't benefit them somehow?!
If Kate was such a good mommie, why didn't she take all the kids? After all, she had two strong men to help supervise them. How did she decide to take two six-year olds when the twins would have enjoyed it much more due to their age and understanding of WHO Taylor Swift was. Kate's strings are being pulled by her PR machine now and it's sadly transparent. Has nothing to with being a brood sow, now, just trying to put a bow on the sow's ear. Kate, we can hear you oinking coast-to-coast.
If she only took two of the 'tups' to the concert, whoever paid for this wasted their money. Concerts are not for that age group, even taking the twins would have been a stretch at nine years old. If you let young kids do all this stuff at such early ages, what is saved for them to look forward to as teenagers? And then we wonder why kids are growing up too fast and why there are so many teen pregnancies. But then again, that is something that a good mother wsould have known. And we're not dealing with a good mother here. There are pictures of her out with Steve, Tony and Aden (sp?) from DWTS, and there she goes showing her absolute lasck of class. I suppose her feeling is if some single female went out with 'her' married husband, why can't she do it to some other woman. Super tramp has the ethics of an alley cat and it's showing every day with her life style. We're waiting for DWTS to watch her hit the skids, hope Tony 'accidently' drops her on her saggy butt.

Why in the world have 8 children if you were going to spend so much time away to "provide" for them. Do you need to be a "star" to provide for your children? Kate took only Leah and Alexis to the concert because they are the most compliant of the eight due to the fact that they have been seen on video as being punished and beaten the most. Remember the video of Kate really BEATING little Leah when she was four for blowing a whistle while Kate was talking on her phone? Must have been an important call with Steve, the guy who travels with her and stays in the CONNECTING room. Leah and Alexis know from all their beatings that they must follow "mommie dearest's" instructions to a "T" or else they will be dragged and beaten within an inch of their lives. All of the children are beginning to disobey her and will not always obey her when on camera. At least Leah and Alexis get to have a night out for all their beatings.
Comparing Kate to other single parent working moms? I don't know any single parent working moms who stay in luxury hotels, ride in limos, get free hairdos, have 5 nannies, jet from one coast to another, etc., etc., etc. Actually, I think you just insulted Kate. LOL. I'm quite sure she thinks she's better than those "normal" single parent working moms.

Kate keeps 2 of her kids out of school fri. afternoon. To go to a concert. They are 5. They should not be at a concert at 5. This is not Sesame Street on Ice. It's a concert. Also, they could not really talk to each other or hear each other. So, great quality time. Go to a place where you have no opportunity to talk to your kids. Did it ever occur to you the other kids didn't want to go and those two did? What is wrong with taking a child to a concert? I've done it many times. I took my nephew, niece and my kids at a young age and they loved it. In fact, they enjoyed it much more than Disney on Ice and I took them to that as well as the Circus each year. And funny, they're all grown and rarely went to a concert as a teen. Too much alcohol and drugs for them.
My only thought to all of this is: let he who has made no error be the first to cast his stone.
My hope is that she is a good mother to her children. None of us know the truth of who she is, her relationship with her children, or what her path is. We only see what the media wants to stir up. Let her be. She is on her own path, and she should stand in her truth.
A single mother of eight kids regardless if they are a celebrity or not is going to have to spend time away from their kids. Most single moms with just three or four kids spend a great deal of time working to feed their little ones. This means there is a caretaker or someone other than mommy watching the kids. I find it so funny how people praise men for working double and triple shifts to provide for their family but when a woman has to step in to work and provide she is a bad mom. There is nothing wrong with having a career and kids. I never see anyone hurling degrading comments at Angelina Jolie or all these other actors or actress who maintain their career, appearance, and take care of family. Most Kate haters are border line obsessed with her and comment each time only further puffing up her image and making her more relevant in the media and drawing more crowds. So she should be thanking all of you for keeping her in the limelight no matter if you cast her as a villain or hero.
Lawrence: Let me tell you this. When the man provides, the mama is usually home with the kids. When the woman is providing, the mand is usually not around. So lets just say that the woman is providing without the father in the picture as is with Kate Gosselin because this ***** doesnt want to give the father extended visitation, so this is her choice. These kids do not have to be with nannnies (strangers) they can be with their father,but because Kate Gosselin has primary custody, she chose not to give Jon extended visitation. As with all the previous shows of Jon & Kate plus eight , he wanted to be a father and he wanted to be in a relationship. He didn't have to be there, but he was. He didn't want to have the show but Kate did. She did not try and keep the relationship together he did and this is why the ***** is dancing with the stars and bashing Jon and this is why their marriage is over because she wanted fame over family. If you look at previous clippings of Jon & Kate plus 8, you will see that Jon truly was a good father and Kate wanted all the attention. He would have never followed through with the divorce had she decided to go to counseling. It was TLC that had control over their children and their lives. Kate Gosselin is a puppet, nothing more. At least Jon had the guts to fight for his children and this ***** continues to be a puppet. She is no mother in my eyes.
I hope Kate's 15 minutes will end soon. Now having said that how about extending it by 5 minutes. This woman seriously needs a lesson in what to wear. I was wondering why TLC never had her cast on What Not to Wear and then realized the reason. She has absolutely nobody to nominate her for the show - no family, no friends. Okay, it is obvious that there are Kate bashing insomniacs out there. So I will toss my two cents in. I find it interesting that no one here is aware that they live in a glass house and are freely flinging stones with no consideration for facts, only what the tabloids toss out to the hungry public wolves. No marriage is without bumps in the road, no relationship is without changes and alterations. It is unfortunate that Jon and Kate were not able to work things out, but we don't know the true circumstances. With all that being said I feel that both parties have been vilified enough, and in this instance have to speak up in Kate's defense. Considering what we have been shown Kate has worked hard to feed, clothe, nurture, guard, train and provide golden opportunities for children who otherwise would have had much less. Strains of kids, a marriage going south and us. Kate deserves her fun, smartly opting for something that will pay. She dresses better than many of us typing. Go Kate!

Lawrence @ 1:33 made a VERY GOOD POINT. I am a single mother of two, and find myself struggling with providing for my childern and being there for them. It is an EXTREMELY difficult balance to maintain, and I suffer a great deal of guilt because I can't split myself in two. I have no choice but to rely on caretakers to help me. Kate was a nurse prior to her show. There is no way she would be able to provide for 8 on that salary. Leave her alone and let her take care of her kids as she see fits. Do not judge lest ye be judged. If you don't like her- move on and worry about your own life. Unless you have been in someone else's shoes, you dont have the right to judge.
