The news breaking across the internet Monday is that former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin has now officially gained permission from the State of Pennsylvania to film her children for an upcoming series of specials -- however, this permit isn't exactly permanent.
In an interview with E! Online, Pennsylvania Department of Labor spokesperson Troy Thompson had this to say:
"It'll have to be reapproved for every six months...That's noted on the permit and it was noted in the permits following the investigation of 'Jon and Kate Plus 8.'"

OMG, this woman's claim to fame is making babies and nothing more.

How can anyone think this is great???!!! Who wants to see a woman who has her own big mess to actually focus on and sort out, deal with other women's problems? I think she should focus on her own family first for once.
I do believe it is great also. The kids will be on summer vacation during most of the filming and will be able to travel and do new things. Congratulations Kate and kids, I am looking forward to seeing how your personalities have evolved since the last time we saw you.
I will write to any sponsor of any program that she is on telling them that I will stop buying their product. Her new reality show? How is she going to help other mother's in difficult situations...Marriage coach not so much....patient, kind mother? Not so much. As an author,her book has tanked. She has bank rolled millions from the original series...she just reportedly has received 200K for NOT dancing with the stars. That's more money than thousands of people make with just as many kids would hope to make in 4 years. Go away Kate is the only program that I would watch that she is on. Her doe eyed tears that she has to support her kids does NOT convince me that she is doing anything but promoting herself into a lifestyle that a middle class mama has grown accustomed to. Kids don't need money they need a Mom who puts them first, not herself. Patooie that she puts her kids first!!!
I think it is great I really look forward to seeing Kate and the kids back on the tv again her program was the onle think I ever cared to watch on tlc I never missed a show I think people need to lay off Kate, Kate is doing what she has to do to take care of her childern go Kate I am behine you all the way and I can,t wait to see you and the kids again I will always your loyal fan always no matter what.
I agree that Kate is fame mongering a bit, perhaps maybe more than a bit. With that said, most of the kids are used to a kind of lifestyle, since birth, that many of us could not understand. I hope "for the kids sake" whichever way things go...they remain consistent. If not, this could be the first set of reality child star syndrome...not alike real actor child stars....gary coleman, "webster", rest his soul "Corey", etc...etc.
For every Drew Barrymore...hell and back...there are countless hell and never backs.

This is the difference: real actors/actresses go to a set or on location to work and portray fictional or make believe characters. When it's over, they get to go home to their private lives. The Gosselin kids, however, have no private life. They "are" their characters, they and their friends get to watch their parent's divorce on tv. Their set is their house, lights installed and all. When they go on location, it's their family vacation that gets filmed, privacy be damned. These kids are going to be totally messed up , if they aren't already. Add to that the fact that their parents have removed every extended relative from their lives, so who do they bond with--the film crew! That is sick.
