'Jon and Kate Plus 8:' Kate Gosselin's new book projected as 'disappointment'

Kate: publicity can't save this one.

Former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin has had a difficult time so far with her new book I Just Want You to Know. Despite a lengthy publicity tour (which included stops talking to Jay Leno and Ryan Seacrest), the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant is now struggling to sell copies (or even pull in positive reviews on Amazon).

In a new interview with Us Magazine, book sales expert Jim Milliot proclaimed that Kate's sales numbers to this point (which were not even enough to crack the top ten on the New York Times' nonfiction bestseller lister) are "unimpressive:" He also went on to say that books have the majority of their success "in the first month or two of publication, which means that Kate will have "a very tough time getting to 50,000, let alone 100,000...I think it will be  a disappointment in the end."

Reviews of the book from the average reader have been decidedly mixed. While some people praise Kate for her courage in speaking out and publishing letters written to her children, others feel that the tone of the book suggests that Kate spends too much time complaining about her current situation when she should be counting her blessings.

No, I am not interested in reading her book. Actually, I am not interested in anything about Kate, except: is she going to be a good mother? or... has she gotten the much needed mental help that she so needs.

Read them and enjoyed them. You have to be able to read a book to know if it is any good. Evidently the previous two don't know how to read or act their age.

I read it while having coffee in my local bookstore (didn't buy it, wouldn't waste the money). In my opinion, it was a sad use of paper. If her intent was to speak one-on-one to each of her children and let them know how much they are loved for the individuals that they are, she failed. The largest thrust of the "book" was, as always, about Kate, not the children. How hard life was for her having all those children. How one child defied her, how one child cost her too much money in broken glasses, how one child lied, how one child was too needy - and how all that affected her. She even got in her favorite topic, the P-people - and, of course, how they affected HER! It was also blatantly obvious that this book, unlike the first two, was actually written by Kate. The language was juvenile, the grammar questionable. All in all, had she wanted a best seller, she should have had Beth Carson write this one as well. Oh wait, she cut her out of her life a while back too. Advice? Don't buy it!

Don't intend to read anything she writes. I work too hard for my money to waste it on her. I am so sick of her pity parties. She should be greatful for what she has because her gravy train is about to derail. Why, oh why, won't she just go away. Everytime I see her on tv for whatever she is whining about, I turn her off. It was so refreshing to watch DWTS without her.

Oh, and one last thing. She has a section in there about her "fans" and how annoying she finds them. With sentiments like that expressed for all to see, is it any wonder this book is tanking? If only she could tank as quickly!

Kate is full of crap! She said in an interview that she didn't care if the book sold any copies because she wrote the book just for her kids. So why would she share private letters to her children for everyone to read?? What a phony! Unfortunatley, all the negative comments written about her keep her in the spotlight and that's exactly what she wants. Let's ignore her so she will finally disappear!

I completely agree withh MaggieL and Lexi. I have NO idea what Frann is talking about!
