It didn't take long for former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin to respond to a custody lawsuit filed by her ex-husband. In a new statement, the reality TV mom balks at claims that she is an "absentee mom" (the term used by Jon's lawyer Anthony List) due to her participation on "Dancing With the Stars:"
"I am not willing to comment in public on the custody discussions regarding my children,” Kate said. “What I will say is this: I am and always will be a mother first, but as a single working mom I will do everything necessary to provide for my kids despite the opinions of others."
Kate's attorney, meanwhile, had this to say about the potential lawsuit to Radar Online:
"We haven’t received any formal filing yet but I can’t imagine anything farther from the truth. Kate is a devoted mother. Her concern for the welfare of her kids is so prominent that any allegations like this report are reckless and so far from the mark, it’s offensive."
In the lawsuit, Jon is asking for increased custody of the children and possibly child support payments from Kate -- the roles have been reversed for the past few months, with Jon paying his ex-wife $22,000 monthly. As of right now, the reality TV dad is only seeing his children every other weekend.

Why was it that Jon took the little girl to the doctor on Easter Sunday? Where was GOOD CHRISTIAN MOM KATE ON EASTER SUNDAY? What is more important, knowing the welfare of your child's health or making a plane ride.
If she gets booted off tonight, she will say she has all the time to devote to her kids, until the next celebrity gig. If Jon isn't working, he might as well be a Mr Mom, and save the expense of all those nannies. And guess what, the kids will have at least one parent around, hopefully.
Are you kidding me??? Kate a Christian? The word Christian is Christlike, what part of that does she fit? Does she read the word? Does she take her children to church? I do understand that christianity is a private thing between us and Christ, however doesn't is state that "you will know them" ? In the bible??? I don't get it! But then again I don't think alot of people do... Simply my opinion!
Jon's just jealous, and out of cash again cuz no rich girl friend will keep him around. He has no basis for this suit, it hasn't been long enough that he hasn't been acting out with young girls, doing drugs in the yard, drinking, etc. to challenge what the other judge put in place. This lawyer will also get dragged though the mud because Jon LIES about his situation and circumstances
jon should get custody. kate is too busy looking like a fool trying to dance. when her kids have behavioral problems as teens she will look back and regret not being home. home is where she belongs.

Believe me, if Jon could get a job such as dancing on dancing with the stars he would hop on it in a minute. But, he has no such luck! He is a worthless bum! He is completely jealous of Kate! He must not have a girlfriend with money at the moment and is just going after the kids to hurt Kate more!
Jon Gosselin is a disgusting pig and a horrible father. He was out sleeping with his bimbos and not seeing the kids for months. Now he suddenly wants to be dad again. I don't think so. He's an embarrassment and a sorry excuse for a parent. Kate doesn't owe him a thing. He made his choices and should have to live with them.
Of course Jon should get the kids!
Kate would be free to pursue the cameras.

Heaven forbid that a non-custodial parent take the child to a doctor so the mother of 8 can work and make money. Good Christian women should "be home with the kids". Seriously, I have never read such idiotic discussion. Written be jerks who don't know how hard it is to be a single mom. You do what you can to care for your kids - sometimes that means actually working in your field. Kate's "field" is being a mom and putting herself in the bullseye of public opinion. How else is she going to give all she so clearly wants to to these kids? Jon doesn't want to be a fulltime dad - he wants the noteriety. At least she is moving on and being honest about who she is - a mom who is doing something really difficult for her so she can take care of her family. That requires income. . Mom's are damned if we do and damned if we don't. Grow up!!!
The judge needs to order Kate keep her fame seeking self off tv just like tlc made Jon do. Nancy Grace reported Kate gets $100K per month to stay under tlc contract and Jon gets $5K as in the tlc/Jon settlement. Again, Jon probably took it so he could provide the money to them through giving it to Kate in the settlement. Much of this might come out. Yet it is ok for kate to work where she wants and not Jon. Come on, TLC and Kate is the cause of Jon not working. Those kids adore Jon and he adoresthem. TLC would not let him work, they are just as much to blame for him not working as Kate, not Jon.
Kate Gosselin is still using the media to spew her lies to try to stay on tv. She is a monster using the children to have the money to gain what SHE WANTS in life not what the children need. The children need their dad and Kate has took that away from them to. Kate has caused terror in their lives. Hopefully Jon can tell the truth now that the stupid TLC contract and zipper they put on his lips and stopped him from working. The judge needs to consider the blackmale TLC and Kate seems to have done to Jon.
Jon is the one that was running around with young women not Kate. He is lazy dumb tail man and does not want to work but live the life of a star and wants Kate to pay for it. If he was so concern about his kids, he would not have moved to New York and the supid man spent all of his money. Kate is the one who has not left her kids. Mothers work. Would you want Kate to file for welfare or go out and make money to support her kids. How dare you speakk bad about working mothers.
People need to remember back when the show first started and Kate was all about how she needed to be with her kids and was always so rude to Jon about how things had to be so perfect, well where is all that perfection now? Kate is a big put on and doing like some of these other so called "perfect moms" saying she is doing all this for her kids. Her kids didn't care that they had the most expensive beds and the biggest house or for that matter Kate's tummy tuck, her new look, her boob job!!! I'm sure they would just like to have their "mommy" back home or maybe not, since she was the one always yelling and making things not fun around the house when she was there. Get real Kate, you are doing this for you and not for your kids. You make enough money off your ex to raise your children if you are not trying to live above your means, like you did when you were together. Jon should get the kids so they have some stability in their young lives.
