Jon and Gail Cobb charged with animal cruelty

The owners of four horses that Putnam County Animal Control called, "severely malnourished" have been arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Jon and Gail Cobb, of Custer Ridge Road in Buffalo were taken into custody just before 4 p.m. Monday, according to deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Both are charged with one count each of animal cruelty. The Cobbs were released following the arrest on a PR bond.

The horses’ spines were showing and they had no food or water. One horse was found dead.

Wowktv.com stated, “The veterinarian who was there checking the animals also specializes in equine abuse. She said the horse that suffered the most neglect will probably have to be put down due to neurological damage.”
