Some of the best workouts are so much fun that you don’t even realize that you’re working out until you’re exhausted at the end. Imagine the fun of elementary school Phys Ed without the downside of sadistic gym teachers!

The Slaughterhouse Gym in Broomfield is holding a team CrossFit competition with a twist. Teams of two men and two women from all over Colorado and Wyoming will be battling it out on May 3rd for a grand prize of $1000. The events will mix both conventional CrossFit movements with some throwback, old-school, gym-class style workouts!

The Schoolyard Showdown will be hosted by DEFY!, and held at their Broomfield CrossFit facility at 6850 W. 116th Ave. Competition sponsors include independent AdvoCare specialists Zach and Heather Vogel, Ragin' Ape Supplements, and South Platte Free Range Beef. Colorado’s first mobile paleo-friendly kitchen, The Paleo Wagon, will also be on hand as the food-service provider!

This will be a great event for competitors and spectators alike. There are still spots available for teams who want to compete (register at wodrocket.com), and there is no admission fee for spectators!

If you’ve ever felt that workouts should be more like playing until you drop, don’t miss this fun-filled and challenging competition!
