Support the Seminary High School cheerleaders and enjoy a race on the Okaotma Creek at the same time on Saturday, August 14.
The race will begin at the Seminary Bridge and end at Okatoma Outdoor Post, about 20 miles north of Hattiesburg off Hwy 49. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from Okatoma Outdoor Post and they will shuttle you to the race's starting point.
Cost to enter the race is $25 per canoe and $15 per kayak. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Seminary High School cheeerleaders.
Prizes:
1st Place Canoe: $150
1st Place Kayak: $100
Winners will also be acknowledged at the Seminary Homecoming game.
Register at the Seminary Bridge on the day of the race between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM.

I like the idea of cheering for other folks who enter the Okatoma canoe and kayak race on August 14 -- I'm pretty sure I'd fall out of the boat almost immediately!
I'm probably the worst kayaker ever... but I'd love to watch this.
I'm sure the spectators will enjoy watching the Okatoma canoe and kayak race on August 14 as much as the racers.
