Whether you have Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, or prediabetes, you do not want to miss out on spending an evening with the Central Ohio Diabetes Association. On Wednesday, February 26th, 2014, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association will be offering, for free, a variety of educational workshops, blood sugar checks, information on local resources as well as the opportunity to speak with diabetes educators. Here is your opportunity to have more than a few minutes with health professionals, such as diabetes educators, who are experts in caring for those with diabetes. To attend this free event offered by the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, you will need to enroll by February 24, 2014. You can enroll by calling the Central Ohio Diabetes Association at 614-884-4400. Here is their website for more information http://diabetesohio.org/. The Central Ohio Diabetes Association also offers classes throughout the year to help support individuals with diabetes and those caring for individuals with diabetes.
I am always looking for resources and educational events that are free, and this one is. I encourage you to jot down questions and/or concerns that you have about caring for yourself and seek answers as well as resources to help you live the best life possible. You are not alone. Get involved and get the support that you desire. I also recommend that you take someone with you to this event if you can. It usually helps to have another set of ears and eyes to help take in all of the great information you will be receiving. While you are at this event, check on the classes that the Central Ohio Diabetes Association offers. The more informed you are about your health, the better you can take care of yourself.
Tip of the week: If you do not know what questions to ask your healthcare provider, ask a diabetes educator about what possible questions you should ask.
To living your best life in 2014 and beyond,
Timika Chambers RN BSN MSN CDE
