Hacker Scouting is fairly new to the St. Louis area. If you haven't heard of it already, you're sure to catch the enthusiasm about these young innovators soon. There is one chapter of scouts who meet in St. Charles County. Learn more about St. Louis Hackers Scouts here.
The group took off with excitement and such a huge amount of interest that they filled up quickly. They are currently in the process of looking for qualified mentors so they can expand and allow those on the waiting list a spot to join their meetings.
In the meantime, St. Louis Hacker Scouts is opening up an incredible opportunity for St. Louis area students. Starting Saturday, September 7, they will be hosting month-long events intended to introduce kids to hands-on science, creative and techno fun.
The first event will be held Saturday, September 7, from 10 to noon at Quail Ridge Park.
The group will be making mini marshmallow guns and decorating them. Everything you need to make the guns will be provided. All you need to bring is your “ammunition”, which is a bag of mini marshmallows.
When everyone is done making their marshmallow guns, they will have an opportunity to use them with some target practice and maybe even some friendly competition.
Sign up here. This event costs $25 per child.
