Spend a glamorous night out with local celebrities to the music of Tony award-winning, Oscar-winning lyricist Alan Jay Lerner while contributing to a good cause. ‘I Could Have Danced All Night: A Gala Benefit Concert Celebrating the Life and Lyrics of Alan Jay Lerner’ is a one night only benefit concert that is dedicated to raising money for the early detection, treatment, and lung cancer prevention through the non-profit organization Upstage Lung Cancer (ULC). Grant recipients and major awards will be announced during this exciting evening.
Hosted by renowned arts and entertainment critic Joyce Kulhawik, directed by Lisa Rafferty and musically directed by Tim Evans, this stellar evening will consist of a silent auction, reception, and concert on Tuesday, November 5 at the Lyric Stage, 140 Clarendon Street in Boston, Massachusetts at 7:30 p.m. Celebrated talent such as Scott Wahle, Hildy Grossman, Leigh Barrett, Paula Markowitz, and Brian De Lorenzo will take the stage covering some of Lerner’s most popular songs.
Alan Jay Lerner, who lost his life to lung cancer, had tremendous Broadway hits from shows such as ‘Brigadoon,’ ‘My Fair Lady,’ ‘An American in Paris,’ ‘Gigi,’ and ‘Paint Your Wagon.’ He was also inducted into The Songwriters Hall of Fame.
