This week started with more bitter cold temperatures and snow throughout the Johnstown area, but this weekend is looking for mighty good for hitting the slopes. The temperatures are going to be warmer and may have an effect on the slope conditions later in the weekend. However, the conditions will be quite nice for the skier or boarder. In addition, this is a weekend full of events at Seven Springs. Take the family out for the Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships, the Burton Mountain Festival or even Snow Daze with WJAC. So take advantage of the weather and get out to the slopes or even just go snow tubing.

This will be a great weekend to catch some big air at Hidden Valley or any of the other local ski areas near Johnstown.

The forecast for the Johnstown area and the Laurel Highlands for the weekend is looking pretty good for snow sports of all kinds. Saturday should start off with mostly cloudy skies giving way to some rain overnight on Saturday after 1:00 a.m. Sunday will continue with a slight chance of rain showers during the day giving way to some snow showers overnight. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid-forties on Saturday and the upper thirties on Sunday. Overnight lows are expected to be in the mid-thirties on Saturday and around twenty on Sunday night. Remember that temperatures at the resorts could be a little lower than in Johnstown, so some ice could be a problem on Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
