After a week of cold temperatures and daily snow showers in the Johnstown area, we are in for a brief change. The first full week of the ski season at several of the local resorts will end with a warm up and some rain showers. The change could bring a sloppy weekend, but there will still be plenty of snow around for skiing and snowboarding.

Don't let the weather deter you from getting out and hitting the slopes this weekend.

The forecast for the Johnstown area and the Laurel Highlands is looking pretty wet for the weekend. Rain showers began today and are expected to hang around Saturday and Sunday. The showers should begin to taper off Sunday night before ending with a possibility of snow showers returning Monday morning. High temperatures are expected to be in the mid-fifties on Saturday and into the low sixties on Sunday. Overnight lows are expected to be in the mid-forties tonight and only in the low fifties Saturday night. By Sunday night, temperatures should be returning to normal with an overnight low in the mid-thirties. Needless to say slope conditions could change this weekend since the warmer weather will prevent snowmaking until next week.
