Johnstown outdoor family fun: Seven Springs 2012 Winterfest

Seven Springs Mountain Resort has been battling the weather like all of our local ski resorts this year.  Recently, some additional snowfall has aided them in winning the battle.  And it comes just in time for the big annual celebration.

This weekend is the beginning of Seven Springs’ Winterfest.  The cooperative effort with Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV Channel 4 is celebrating its twenty-fifth year.  The activities begin Friday, February 17, 2012 and last throughout the weekend and end next weekend. There are a variety of activities in the snow and on the slopes.  The event also includes live entertainment, family activities, and many more activities for the entire family.

During the event, you will have the chance to meet many of the personalities from WTAE-TV.  There are live news broadcasts from Seven Springs throughout the weekends.  Friday and Saturday nights the kids can enjoy Story Time with various personalities.  There are tubing sessions throughout the day on Saturdays and Sundays with WTAE-TV staff.  There are also a few special events with WTAE-TV personalities throughout the week.  For a full list of events, check out the schedule online.  In addition there are daily movies for the kids and some evening movies for adults.  Here are some daily activities of note.  Please check the schedule for more details as some activities may require reservations.
