We have been reminded over the past three days that it is indeed winter with bitter cold temperatures in the Johnstown area. Now this coming weekend is another reminder. This weekend is the Fifth Annual Family SnowBlast at Hidden Valley Resort. The annual event is sponsored by KDKA-TV – Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh’s CW.
The Family SnowBlast is a four-day long celebration at the resort that is held each year. The celebration includes parties, live broadcasts, contests, and plenty of fun for the entire family. The event begins in the evening of Thursday, January 24 and lasts through Sunday, January 27.
The fun kicks off Thursday with the Family SnowBlast Kickoff Bonfire at the Ski Lodge. The bonfire starts at 5:00 p.m. and lasts about two hours. In addition, Jon Burnett will be broadcasting the weather live from the resort for each news broadcast that night beginning at 4:00 p.m.
The fun continues on Friday with the Pittsburgh Today live broadcast from the resort beginning at 9:00 a.m. The fun continues Friday evening with the SnowBlast Friday Night Fun Party. The party takes place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the ski lodge.
The big day will be Saturday with a full day of scheduled events.
