Johnson Hartig nails it for Libertine at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012!

Atlanta fashionistas and fans of designer Johnson Hartig, design house Libertine presented their Fall 2012 fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Milk Studios on February 9, 2012 in New York City.

Designer Johnson Hartig loves his ethnic touches through layering on of ethnic jewelry to accessorize his autumnal designs.  The garlands of trade beads as well as chunky medallions from Central Asia complete his looks!

The same concept of trade bead garlands is echoed in his gorgeous striped knit which has the same colors – silver, black, orange, green, turquoise and red, further embellished with silver discs, worn together with his burgundy suit is an amazing look not easily forgotten if you want to make an entrance ladies…

Libertine’s red and black houndstooth sequin embellished coat is also a stunner – just the right amount of glitz so it can be worn at night or during the daytime!

Their brown tweed coat is also great paired along with their striped beige, navy, white and black striped turtleneck and woven skirt in similar colors, with green added.

The pairing of their rose dress with the plaid coat combined patterns and textures but the colors were in the same range and the look worked perfectly together!

Designer Hartig also likes to embellish his plaid coats with scattered metal discs or with sequins with various motifs such as horseshoes, crowns, stars and anchors, much like the pearly kings and queens of London with their pearl buttons.

Hartig’s cream crocheted skirt, which the model wore with a black chiffon shirt with silver lightening motif was something totally different but that’s exactly what designer Johnson Hartig does – he has a common thread in his range but then he’ll throw in something totally different!

The same lightening motif featured on a coat upside-down (or the right side up, but certainly in a different direction) looks like the silvery branches of a tree on a pitch-black night.

The uniqueness and level of embellishment as well as layering on of textures and ethnic accessories sets this collection by Libertine apart from the crown – I simply love it!
