Johnny Manziel as the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns could soon become a reality. Manziel, playing quarterback for the Browns in offseason practices, has already earned the respect of newly hired offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. According to a report from ESPN on Saturday (May 31), his skill set is even being compared to Robert Griffin III at this early offseason interval.

Speaking about the similarities, Shanahan stated, "Johnny and Robert are very similar. They're both talented guys who can make plays with their legs. But there comes a time in the NFL when they're going to keep you in the pocket, and you're going to have to have that ability to make the throws with your arm and mind. And Johnny, just like Robert, has that arm talent and intelligence to do that."

Shanahan didn't stop there either, as he went on to state that he believes there is a chance for the rookie to start at quarterback over veteran Brian Hoyer. If the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns turns out to be Johnny Manziel when they head into the preseason games, it is certainly going to raise the level of interest that this team finds on a national stage. It will also put the Texas A&M product under a bigger microscope.

Neither quarterback has made it into the top 200 fantasy football rankings for the 2014 NFL season, but that could change if either one looks really good in preseason games. According to the latest rankings from ESPN, there are several other players from the team that do make it into the top 200.

Cleveland Browns players to pay close attention to in upcoming 2014 fantasy football drafts are running back Ben Tate, tight end Jordan Cameron, wide receiver Josh Gordon, receiver Andrew Hawkins, running back Terrance West, and receiver Miles Austin. In 12 team leagues, all of those players should be on rosters for the start of the 2014 NFL campaign.
