According to CBSsportsline.com, Johnny Manziel is expected to play on Saturday against Vanderbilt. On Tuesday, Kevin Sumlin stated that Manziel was out of a protective sling to prevent him from throwing during Monday’s practice. That’s good news for the Aggies, but hopefully Johnny Manziel can finish the whole game.
Johnny Manziel was hurt during a critical period in the fourth quarter of the game against Auburn and those missed plays were a tremendous factor in the outcome of the game. Texas A&M was held to a field goal and a punt on consecutive possessions. That was enough to let Auburn right back in the game and take a late lead.
Johnny Manziel finished with 454 yards passing, four touchdowns and showed a toughness by coming back into the game.
Right now, Manziel is fine to play, but these are the type of injuries that can be recurring during the season. Certainly a little more defense would help everybody on Texas A&M feel a little better.
