People magazine announced their 2009 Sexiest Man Alive today and the winner is…Johnny Depp! This is the second time that Johnny Depp has been bestowed with this honor. He joins the ranks of Brad Pitt and George Clooney who have also received the double honor.
In 2007, Matt Damon was given the Sexiest Man Alive title and turned it down in a gracious letter stating that he didn't feel he deserved it. He said that he felt that Brad Pitt and George Clooney campaigned heavily for him and that is why he won the coveted title.
Johnny Depp, 46 was born in Kentucky and started his big screen acting with a small part in Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984, and has been acting ever since. In 1987, he gained national attention for his role on TV’s 21 Jump Street, and his best known recent movies include the Pirates of the Caribbean series of movies.
