Johnny Depp fans followed the actor as he released three movies in 2011 and even graced the stage of the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. The entertainer has another reason to be thankful for his success and it has to do with the fans. On Thursday he was named America’s Favorite Actor. In a Harris Interactive poll asking 2,237 adults who was their favorite celebrity actor, Johnny Depp was the overwhelming favorite.
Dividing up the data into demographics found that there was more than one top actor in Hollywood. George Clooney was liked best by the older individuals, those individuals who were identified as Democrats love Denzel Washington and people living in the south love Clint Eastwood.
While the personal preference of the nation is Johnny Depp, there is a few interesting names that round out the top five. Clint Eastwood and Denzel Washington tie for number two and Tom Hanks arrives at the fourth spot. Leaving the late John Wayne in the fifth spot on the list which isn’t too surprising as Wayne has graced the list since 1994.
Johnny Depp has amazing fan support as an actor whether the character is Captain Jack Sparrow of The Pirates of the Caribbean series or John Dillinger in Public Enemies.
