Looks like it’s all in the family. Johnny Depp is getting ready to shoot his latest movie -- and you won’t believe who his co-star is. The movie star will star in director Kevin Smith’s upcoming action-adventure comedy “Yoga Hosers” alongside his 15-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Depp, according to Us Weekly on Wednesday.
In addition, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Smith’s daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, will also appear in the film, which is the second installment of her father's True North Trilogy.
Of the new comic book flick, Smith told Us: “People always ask me ‘Are you ever going to make a comic book movie?’ This is it - but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two fifteen year old girls.”
While both teen girls have made cameos in Smith’s previous film “Tusk,” this spinoff will put their characters front and center. The celeb kids will star as 15-year-old yoga-obsessed convenience store workers, both named Colleen, who team up with a legendary man hunter Guy Lapointe (Johnny Depp) to take on an ancient evil that threatens to ruin their school party.
The star-studded cast will also include Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach, Harley Morenstein, Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes.
Earlier this year, Depp talked to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres about his daughter, describing her as “a sharp kid, very sophisticated, super intelligent and, uh, scary.” The actor then explained, "All that cool stuff is going on that 15-year-old girls [do]. All that stuff. So she could be the sweetest thing in the world, which most of the time she is, and suddenly I'm in trouble for something."
While the teen seems to be on track to follow her dad’s career path as a movie star, in a recent interview, her mom Vanessa Paradis suggested that Lily-Rose could follow her own footsteps as a teen singer. Paradis, who became famous at age 14 as a singer in France, told The Independent that her daughter is a "non-stop" singer who even has a songwriter credit on her latest album. "This song, 'New Year', is actually really old,” Paradis revealed. “It was composed when Lily-Rose was six!”
Depp and his ex-partner Paradis have been notoriously private about their kids, Lily-Rose and Jack, 12. But a relocation from the South of France to Los Angeles has clearly paved the way for the celebrity spotlight.
