Johnny Depp had a near death experience on the "Lone Ranger" set. According to Zap 2 It, Johnny Depp is admitting to almost getting trampled by a horse while on the set. He did ride a horse in the film.
Johnny rode a special saddle in the film and it was supposed to look like he was riding bareback. This is great for riding, but not good at all for jumping. His horse didn't know the rules and decided to jump. He ended up hanging off the horse and had trouble even getting himself back up.
He fell under the horse and was very lucky that it didn't fall on him. This could have ended up a very bad situation for the star of "Lone Ranger." Johnny talked about it all to David Letterman.
