Taking a break from his longtime collaborator, Christopher Nolan, first-time director Wally Pfister has nonetheless maintained the same level of secrecy. It was late last year that we had our last good look at his ambitious sci-fi film, Transcendence, and after plugging us in to a new poster yesterday, now we're receiving the latest trailer.

Starring Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Cillian Murphy, Kate Mara, Paul Bettany, and Morgan Freeman, the Jack Paglen-scripted film centers on a Dr. Will Caster (Depp), whose dream is to create the ultimate artificial intelligence. This puts him at odds with an anti-technology faction whose violent actions make him a bigger part of the experiment than intended.

It certainly looks good, although the full trailers have yet to have the snap of the short teasers from awhile back. Transcendence opens on April 18th.
