Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are reportedly engaged. According to a Celebuzz article published on Jan. 16, 2014, Depp (who is 50) proposed to Heard (who is 27) on Dec. 24, 2013, but she did not give him an answer right away.

An unnamed source told Celebuzz about Depp's marriage proposal to Heard: “It happened on Christmas Eve. Amber really took her time to make up her mind. She turned him down before before she said yes. So she waited and was thinking about it for a long time.”

Heard has been seen wearing her engagement ring in public.

Depp and Heard co-starred in the 2011 movie "The Rum Diary." They went public with their relationship in 2012, not long after Depp announced his split from his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis, 41, a French actress/singer. Depp and Paradis, who were a couple for 14 years, have two children together: daughter Lily-Rose Melody Depp (born in 1999) and son John Christopher "Jack" Depp III (born in 2002).

Paradis and Depp have said in many interviews that he proposed marriage to Paradis several times during their relationship, but she always said no.

Before Depp and Paradis became a couple, he dated several famous women, including Kate Moss (from 1994 to 1998), Winona Ryder (from 1989 to 1993), Jennifer Grey (in 1988) and Sherilyn Fenn (from 1985 to 1988). Depp was engaged to Ryder, Grey and Fenn, but he never got married to them.

Depp was married to Lori Anne Allison from 1983 to 1985. The marriage ended in divorce.

Heard, who is openly bisexual and has never been married, was in a four-year relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree before Heard got together with Depp. In 2013, there were reports that Heard and Depp temporarily broke up. During this separation, Heard was seen dating model Marie de Villepin.

Depp and Heard co-star in the movie "London Fields," which is currently filming. The movie's release date is to be announced.
