On Friday, March 14, Priscilla Presley appeared on "The Talk" to discuss her new book, "Shades of Elvis." The photography book features over 75 celebrities striking an Elvis-inspired pose while wearing an authentic pair of The King's sunglasses. The long list of celebrities appearing in the book includes Adam Lambert, Cher, Helen Mirren, Charlie Sheen, Ozzy Osbourne, John Stamos, Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Tom Jones, Willie Nelson, Rob Lowe, Robert Plant and many more.
The high-end photography book is the brainchild of celebrity photographer, Christopher Ameruoso. Ameruoso says that for years he used to wear an inexpensive copy of Elvis Presley's famous sunglasses while doing photo shoots with celebrities. Inevitably, most of the famous actors and musicians would want to try on the "Elvis" glasses.
Ameruoso thought this would make a great idea for a book, so he approached Priscilla Presley with the idea and she loved it. "It's so great for this generation to see how important Elvis Presley was coming from their iconic figures," Priscilla explained on "The Talk." She added that many celebrities wrote personal statements to go with their photos of why Elvis means so much to them.
Ameruoso said that many of the celebrities in the book were so in awe of Elvis' sunglasses (which include the "TCB" logo on the sides) that they were almost afraid to touch them. Johnny Depp, Ameruoso said, "looked at them for a good two or three minutes before he even touched them. He was just looking down at them... People are just so appreciative of what Elvis has done for them."
