The Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville is planning a weekend celebration for what would have been The Man in Black’s 82nd birthday. The Johnny Cash Birthday Celebration will kick off Friday, February 28 and run through Sunday, March 2, 2014.

Special guests and performers will include Johnny Cash’s younger brother Tommy, sister Joanne, son John Carter Cash, grandson Joe Cash, former drummer W.S. Holland, former road show member Johnny Western, and former bass player, David Roe among others.

Tickets to the Johnny Cash Birthday Celebration are priced at $55, and several hotels in the area are offering discounted rates for out-of-town visitors.

The ticket price includes access to the Johnny Cash Museum, which houses many never before-seen mementos from the late singer’s life. Visitors will be able to view exhibits which feature costumes, musical instruments, awards, letters, documents, United States Air Force memorabilia, handwritten lyrics, and other treasures from Johnny Cash’s life. In addition to displays, there are interactive exhibits as well.

Tickets can be purchased, and discount hotel information can be obtained, by visiting JohnnyCashBirthday.com.
