Johnny Cash, June Carter and the Tennessee Three sightings appear February 23, 2013 at The Texas Opry Theater in Weatherford, Texas. Johnny Cash would have been 81 on February 26.
“Hello…I‘m Johnny Cash“is possibly the most recognized introduction in live concert history, will be heard once again in Weatherford, Texas.”
Do you hink you’re seeing and hearing ghosts in Weatherford? Yes, but only by "Walkin' The Line." No, you won’t have to call “TAPs” Ghost Hunters for EVP (electronic voice phenomena) evidence. You will actually experience the real live voices and images of "Walkin' The Line," the nation’s number one highly acclaimed and most authentic tribute group to Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash and The Tennessee Three.
The Texas Opry House and "Walkin' The Line" will be bringing Johnny Cash, June Carter and the Tennessee Three in their spectacular show to the Texas Opry Theater on Saturday, February 23, 2013. "Walkin' The Line"is the Nation’s #1 and most authentic tribute to the three Country Music icons of Johnny Cash, June and the Tennessee Three.
Seasoned entertainer and tribute artist, Bennie Wheels, brings back to life the look, voice, and charisma of the young Johnny Cash in his prime…the “Folsom Prison Era“. But what pushes this sincere tribute to “The Man in Black” over the edge is Bennie’s convincingly with the look, voice, and ball of fire attitude, as does Bennie’s actual wife, Renee’, portraying June Carter with that same beauty, voice and fire that only June possessed. Together, they share the same genuine love and chemistry that the legendary “Johnny and June” brought to the stage. Their performance will make you feel as if you’ve seen Johnny and June come to life.
“Not only is the music we recreate note for note, but also the exact sound that everyone loves and remembers. We would never try to change perfection…Our goal is to be the closest thing to seeing Johnny Cash live in concert. There will never be another Johnny Cash…We are simply celebrating his musical legacy and trying to bring back a few memories with other fans such as ourselves.” says Bennie Wheels.”
Bennie Wheels began his entertainment career as an Elvis Presley Tribute Artist. Although successful, working for Dallas' top look-a-like agencies, performing at countless corporate events, live concerts, private functions, and with many National contest wins (also a two time "Images of the King" World Competition Finalist), he soon realized that with 100,000+ acts, the Elvis Tribute business was an over-flooded market.
When the hit movie, "Walk The Line" came out, Bennie was drawn to the story and music of the Legendary Johnny Cash. Then, after touring Sun Records (Memphis, TN) in the Summer of 2006, he vowed to learn how to play the guitar that had collected dust in the corner of his office for so long, and give his best attempt as a Johnny Cash Tribute Artist. Instantly, Bennie realized that his vocal registry had an uncanny likeness to Johnny Cash in every way...even his normal speaking voice. And even from the first moment Bennie hit the stage as "Johnny Cash", it was perfectly clear how natural his tribute to ”The Man in Black” came to him.
Bennie is proud to have his actual wife, Renee' Wheels performing as "June Carter" in his act. Renee' looks and sounds incredibly like June, herself. And Bennie & Renee' share the same kind of love and chemistry that the legendary Duo of Johnny & June had together onstage. Their act is second-nature to them...the closest and most authentic illusion to the real thing that anyone will ever witness.
With the three piece group of fantastic musicians, The Tennessee Three, Dave Ervin (guitar), Franchot Johnston (stand-up bass), and Martin McCall (drums)…No one does it better!
Fan reviews for “Walk The Line,” include: Bennie.....You all are Awesome! It is "haunting" the way you actually sound like Johnny Cash...and look like him as well. As for Renee'...her sound as June is Great!” and “You made a Johnny Cash (Bennie Wheels) fan out of me. I really enjoy watching you and "June" perform along with your fantastic backups. Your entire group is right on the money.”
Johnny Cash’s 81st birthday would have been on February 26th, and “Walkin’ The Line” is very excited to be celebrating his life by paying tribute to him in Weatherford this year. Seeing is believing...and when you see "Walkin' The Line" in action, there’s no doubt that Johnny Cash’s and June Carter Cash’s spirit will continue to live on!
