Johna Edmonds was crowned Miss Johnston County on Feb. 16, Miss North Carolina Arlie Honeycutt announced on Facebook.
The crowning qualifies Edmonds to be a contestant in the North Carolina 2013 Pageant.
Winner of the state pageant will represent North Carolina at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
Edmonds competed for Miss North Carolina 2011 as Miss Tarheel.
She finished in the top 10 at the Miss North Carolina 2012 Pageant as Miss Garner.
Edmonds graduated with an accounting degree at North Carolina State University, according to her LinkedIn profile, and is in graduate school at the university.
She is a former winter tax intern at KPMG in Raleigh.
“Since the age of three, when I performed in my first dance recital, I knew that I had a special God-given talent to entertain, which has been evident with my participation in the Miss America Pageant system,” she said in a 2011 interview with the Poole College of Management.
