John Tyner refuses groin check and TSA agents detain him – video photo gallery

John Tyner was on the way to a hunting trip with his father.

When he proceeded through the security checkpoint at San Diego airport, he was singled out for a thorough body scan.

John had checked the TSA web site that lists the airports that had this intrusive equipment and found San Diego airport did not have one.

He was not expecting a detailed body scan where your most intimate private parts are totally visible to the TSA agents, just as if you were naked.

Not wanting to get a dose of X-rays (remember the lead shields placed over your entire bode when the dentist X-rays your teeth?) he opted out.

Art Carden from The Economic Imagination calls to abolish the TSA: For fiscal conservatives, it’s hard to come up with a more wasteful agency than the TSA.  For privacy advocates, eliminating an organization that requires you to choose between a nude body scan or genital groping in order to board a plane should be a no-brainer.

Steve Chapman, columnist for the Chicago Tribune blogs and says he is no fan of the new frisking by TSA agents: If you enjoyed your last mammography or prostate exam, you'll love the enhanced pat-down. And you'll get a chance to have an interesting conversation with your children about being touched by strangers.

John Tyner’s blog <Insert title here> tells us: I will admit to being particularly fuzzy on the exact order of events when dealing with the agents after getting my ticket refunded; however, all of the events described did occur.  I had my phone recording audio and video of much of these events. It can be viewed below.  Please spread this story as far and wide as possible. I will make no claims to copyright or otherwise.]

John’s first part of a three-part video is attached to this article.

Parts two and three are on John’s web site.

Travelers beware: the pat-down is much different than the standard pat-down.  You see, when you refuse the detailed body scan, you get a very intimate pat down that touches your privates – all of them.

John had the sense to turn on the video recorder in his cell phone and captured the entire process.

He was informed that the TSA agent had permission to touch everyone’s private body parts.  They even ripped up his ticket.

The airline was kind enough to refund John’s non-refundable ticket.

John missed his hunting trip and he was also told if he came back he would definitely be singled out again for the full detailed body scan.

John’s video has gone viral and the entire blogosphere is talking about it.

Even pilots are starting to refuse this screening.

We will have to wait and see if the TSA gets back to screening like the Israelis do: they observe behavior and profile.  Israel has not had a single problem with terrorists on their airline since they started their screening back in the 1960’s

Hell John Tyner in my opinion is out of his mind. Just because hes has a small junk is nothing to be ashamed of. Why would any one not want the TSA to check everyone getting on a plane. If you have nothing to be afraid of then get checked or do not fly period. I do not want to fly with anyone who would not submit to whatever method the TSA wants to check you. I beleive this is just something mr tyner wanted to happen to get his moment of fame as he would call it. Mr tayner it is time to join tthe real world. Just who doe he think he is any. Any male can strap something to his JUNK as mr tyner calls it. Mabey mr tyner thinks of his as junk however most men do. Grow up mr tyner and join the real world.

  • Kiaura Koy 1 year ago

@RealAmerican, a lot of wives and daughters go through either a full-body scan or a full-body exam .... ... there is nothing to be making a big fuss as if this was something like RAPE or SEXUAL ASSAULT by government... don't fly .. if you're all that touch- or scan-sensitive ... MELODRAMATIC PEOPLE!

You're a dick. You support the TSA actions. The actions of TSA are totally unnecessary. And all that you say about John Tyner is irrelevant. the are our freedoms being taken away by some Obama administration. Also, do you want to get cancer? I hope you get a few body scans a get cancer and die.

unfortunatley morons who believe the hype are ok with the breaking of the constitution, lets be educated ...like our founding fathers.
1.the constitution protects its people from unreasonable search and seizure... there are very good reasons for this clause... and they( the bill of rights) shouldnt go away becase 2 buildings got blown up by someone( we dont know who did it) or because one guy got shot in the desert( on his ranch)Az.
    2. anyone who doubts this should reeducate and read some history example the 3rd reich and the SS and it "laws" to protect the common good etc.
3rd. ck facts( our politicians too) the fact is that airport security is less than effective and violating peoples space and rights does not increase it. Cargo on planes not from passengers is not checked or opened. except on rare occasion. this is fact not opinion.
4th i would rather drive than encourage the breaking of the us constitution by flying.these days if i want to fly... i will take my truck off a cliff befor id fly again. TSA violated my moms rights in denver Co.(coming from seattle) she was in a wheelchair with doctors notes for titanium knees and they stripped searched her, sent her to oakcrest for evaluation, made her miss her flight..by 24hours.all because she wanted to smoke a cigarette, in peace. 63 year old lil ole white lady 110 lbs and they were "scared" . remind you of any thing. over zealous is an understatement.
bottom line, any suspension of our rights is wrong. anyone who doesnt think so should move to where your rights and liberties are not protected and see how you like it.
Patriotic is PROTECTING THE CONSTITUTION from all agressors outside the US or from within.!.

TSA groin check is nuts. Apparently you don't mind living in a country where the government grants itself authority to grope you - your wife, your kids. And on WHAT GROUNDS? We are not criminals, and America is not a communist regime - yet. If this happened to a girl on the sidewalk outside the airport - it would be called rape.

  • Kiaura Koy 1 year ago

@Spirited1 ... yeah i see .. people like you probably would commit suicide over something like this ... I can see that happening! Get a little more drama into your life. You don't have enough yet.

"TSA groin check is nuts"!...HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Get it/! ....NUTS! ...HAHAHAHAHAHA

I think I understand why most passengers would not want to be groped or touched in a sexual way. However, I do suspect that John Tyner's refusal has something to do with the size of his penis being incredibly small .... he went overboard with his refusal ... why not go through a full-body scan if touching is not acceptable ... unless you're so ashamed of your junk!

  • dhtaz 1 year ago

    @Kiaura Koy,
Are you always an idiot or just making uneducated remarks for fun? Just because the only way you can get anyone to get some is to fly! First it's the light pat down, then the grabbing of your junk. I wonder how you'll feel when they start the cavity search? Never mind, we already know.

  • Kiaura Koy is an idiot 1 year ago

You're an idiot. Those X-ray scanner will promote cancer or some other disease. You want our freedoms taken away? You're a dick. I hope you get cancer

The crap going on in this country..THE UNITED STATES....is getting to be too much...TSA groin grabbing...schools refusing the display of the flag of the United States because hispanics are offended.....schools forbidding the singing/humming/tapping/playing/whatever of "Silent Night".....and the list goes on. What the hell happened to the UNITED STATES that I grew up in?, HUH?

Maybe I'll keep my sugar packets inside my jock strap next time I fly. Or better yet...how about I jack off a few times and save the goo in a little zip-lock bag and place in my jack strap? Then they would have to open it and check it out. See how they like a nice bio-hazard event.

In case anyone is wondering what Israeli airport security actually means: They single out Arab-looking individuals and "interview" them on their flight plans for up to an hour. They also put red stickers on the luggage of anyone appearing to be Arab or Muslim. They also do luggage and body searches. Jews get green stickers and little trouble passing through security.

Nobody cares what Israel does at their checkpoints. The T.S.A. should be shut down. I am surprised at how weak Americans have become, they should just go ahead and wear chains and admit they are slaves. "Those who give up liberty for safety deserve neither "

Yes, I will stop flying! What credentials do these
TSA people have that would make them
professionals in this latest endeavor to intimidate the public to this extent? Flying used
to be a faster method of transporation but now
is an open-ended book for harrassment! Yes, I
do have a problem with someone handling my
body in the name of "safety", so no, I won't fly
again-ever! Good luck America and God bless
    us all.

You can't use Israeli techniques because it is "Profiling", and the Lawyas defending the criminals will sue you.
