John Travolta to star as gangster John Gotti in new film

Actor John Travolta will portray gangster John Gotti Sr;, in a biopic directed by John Cassavetes, according to a report on Hollywood.com on April 1, 2011. John Gotti Sr. was the head of the Gambino crime family, based in New York.

The story was written by Leo Rossi. The biopic will be produced by Marc Fiore for Fiori Films. John Gotti Jr. has reportedly giving the project his blessing. The film will be shot on location in New York. There will be a press conference about the project on April 12, which will be held by John Gotti Jr., John Cassavetes, John Travolta and Marc Fiore.
