John Travolta's arbitration request denied; Case could be headed to trial

John Travolta thought he was going to be able to take the lawsuit against him through arbitration. Unfortunately the judge felt differently and the case could possible head to trial, according to E! News on Feb. 5.

Fabian Zanzi sued Travolta last June for assault and battery and infliction of emotional distress. Zanzi claims that while giving Travolta a neck massage he “forcefully embraced” him and exposed himself to Zani.

Travolta’s attorney, Marty Singer, turned to the fine print on the cruise ticket and argued that the legal dispute should be settled by arbitration. This would allow the lawsuit to be solved quickly and quietly. Travolta has denied the allegations by Zanzi.

The California federal judge found that Zanzi is not bound by the arbitration agreement and can actually go to trial. So, the case will now head to trial unless Travolta decides to settle instead.

John Travolta actually went on the cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean in June 2009. The lawsuit was not filed by Fabian Zanzi until June 2012. Do you think Travolta just wants to keep this a secret? Or is Travolta entitled to arbitration instead of an actual trial? Sound off in comments below.
