Actor John Travolta made a surprise appearance on Dancing with the Stars on April 18, 2011, to help buddy Kirstie Alley get over her accident prone slump. John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston are close personal friends with Kirstie Alley, who has said that he advises her, like a substitute husband.
Travolta confidently announced that he was Dr. Dance and he was there to fix what was broken. Since Maks fell while dragging Kirstie Alley two weeks ago, Travolta said maybe he should not drag her so far (Kirstie and Maks fall and recover on DWTS.) Referring to last week's shoe incident, he asked Kirstie what kind of shoes she was wearing and told her that they were too fancy and maybe she should wear high top sneakers. He departed, saying he would send a bill.

Maks and Kirstie did the Fox Trot, in what Carrie Ann Inaba called their best dance of the season. Inaba the described the performance as confident and borderline crazy. The judges score was 23.
Their performance was followed by Kendra Wilkinson with Louis Van Amstel, who had the distinction of being the 1000th dance in the history of the show. After her emotional breakdown of last week, Kendra redeemed herself by accepting that the judges, specifically Inaba, were trying to help with their criticism. The judges score was 22, giving them a three was tie for the bottom of the leaderboard. The other two couples with a score of 22 were Petra Nemcovy with Dmitry Chaplin and Ralph Macchio with Karina Smirnoff.
Tied with a score of 26 were Chris Jericho with Cheryl Burke; Chelsea Kane with Mark Ballas; and Romeo with Chelsie Hightower. The high score of the nighit, to Hines Ward and Kym Johnson, was 27.
