John Travolta became the butt of many internet jokes on Sunday evening when he massacred Idina Menzel's name. On March 5, CNN reported that Travolta's publicist issued a statement regarding the incident.

According to CNN, the publicist wanted this statement printed without editing:

I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought...what would Idina Menzel say She'd say, Let it go, let it go! Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!

It all started on Oscar night when John Travolta was introducing Idina Menzel as she took the stage to perform. Travolta announced Menzel's entrance as "the wickedly talented Adele Dazeem." This started the internet spiral where "Adele Dazeem" began trending on Twitter. Additionally, a new Twitter account for "Dazeem" sprung up and starting poking fun at Travolta.

Things got even more entertaining when people across social media began "Travoltafying" their names. Slate.com put out a name generator and for fun, users can enter their own name and see what John Travolta would have called them. For giggles, the Portland Celebrity Examiner would go by the name "Seonaidh Florzes." Head on over to Slate's Adele Dazeem Name Generator and find out what he would have called you at the Academy Awards.

Of course Travolta is very apologetic and would prefer if people just let it go already.
