Comedian John Pinette was found dead in his hotel room in his Pennsylvania hotel room. While the name might not ring a bell, once you see the comedian’s face, you will remember him from the last episode as Seinfeld, as the hapless carjacking victim. He is also a favorite in stand-up venues nationwide.
According to ABC News on April 7, the coroner reports that the 50-year-old Pinette died of natural causes. Pinette, who was a large man, often incorporated his weight into his comedy routines.
Pinette appeared in the televised stand-up specials “Show Me the Buffet,” “I’m Starvin!” and “Still Hungry.” He had roles in movies including “The Punisher.” In the last Seinfeld episode Pinette is the carjacking victim who Jerry, Elaine, Kramer and George failed to help, landing them in jail for breaking the “good Samaritan law.”
While an autopsy was performed, Pinette’s own physician signed off on the comedian’s cause of death. Pinette was due to go out on a stand-up tour which ran across the nation and through Canada.
