John Pinette is dead. The 50-year-old comedian was found dead in his hotel room in Pittsburgh, Penn. on April 5. According to TMZ, police don't suspect foul play. Several months ago it was reported that Pinette had sought treatment for addiction to prescription pills. At this point, a cause of death has not been revealed and it's unlikely that one will ever be.
According to the report, the medical examiner was asked not to perform an autopsy by Pinette's personal doctor. Apparently Pinette had been suffering from heart and liver disease. He was also overweight and all of these things in tandem could have caused him to have a heart attack (despite people believing that he overdosed).
John Pinette was found dead around 2:30 p.m. in his hotel room. No further details about what was in his room or where he was found were released. It's doubtful that any more details will be released unless his family decides to share the information.
Pinette had about 20 upcoming tour dates which would have been packed full of immense laughter. He was easily one of the funniest guys in stand-up, making people laugh until they cry. He was an absolute joy to watch and, from one writer who had the pleasure of meeting him, he was an absolute sweetheart.
John Pinette will be greatly missed by his millions of fans.
