Blue Front Bar-B-Que, Inc. began its operation in 1964 on the corner of 15th Street and Tamarind Avenue. Norris Nelson knew very little about the operation of a restaurant business. However, cooking barbecue was not such a task as Norris had received much training from his father when he was a boy in Eastman, Georgia. Norris's ribs and chicken with his spicy barbecue sauce became a hit and in great demand with the local population. Customers came from all around including Palm Beach to purchase ribs and chicken. Customers began asking how they could buy the sauce which was Norris's grandfathers recipe, so Norris began selling the sauce in soda bottles.
The demand for his thick spicy sauce was so great it increased his passion to make it available to as many customers as possible, so he opened a bottling company across the street from the restaurant and began manufacturing his sauce. He patented the name Blue Front Bar-B-Que, Inc. in 1979 and began marketing his sauce to the public in many stores throughout the county, state and across the country including Winn-Dixie and Publix. After forty plus years in business, Blue Front Bar-B-Que, Inc. still produces a barbecue sauce that is in demand and competitive in the industry. In the true tradition of Blue Front Bar-B-Q Sauce and Norris Nelson we hope that our new restaurant brings back the great memories of the food loved by so many people and wins over new ones that have yet to become Blue front fans.
Rodney Briguglio has been doing events in the South Florida area for the last 18 years. After moving to South Florida from Westhampton Beach, Long Island when he was 22 years old, he has worked in almost all of the luxury properties in Palm Beach starting with The Breakers, The Four Seasons, The Colony Hotel and most recently The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach and South Beach where he held the Title of Associate Director of Meetings and Special Events. Rodney kick started the off premise catering for The Breakers hotel and was assigned as the personal Liaison to the Prince of Brunei for a month while he was staying at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach.
While at the Ritz-Carlton for 8 years Rodney gained an amazing amount of experience working with local and foreign dignitaries, large corporations and highly influential clients. Also, being chosen to be a member of the opening teams for (2) Ritz-Carlton’s (Reynold’s Plantation, Georgia and Coconut Grove, Florida) gave Rodney an immense amount of respect within the corporation and his peers. Rodney brings with him this amazing amount of talent, energy and experience in the event industry. His broad range of knowledge, Client relationships and “can do” attitude is truly an asset as Blue Front propels itself forward in the Palm Beaches, South Florida and beyond!
