Gym Class Heroes picked a winner by showcasing gymnast John Orozco in their video, “Fighter” featuring Ryan Tedder. Saturday, June 9, the 19-year-old Bronx native, nicknamed the “Silent Ninja” by friends, inched passed Danell Leyva to win the 2012 Visa National Championships, which aired on NBC over the weekend. Orozco is almost assured a spot for Team USA for the 2012 Olympics in London and is a favorite for gold.

Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas didn’t win but she came very close, losing by only .2 points to Jordyn Wieber, who won her second straight title. A strong competitor at just age 16, had Gabby not blundered on the balance beam early in the competition, she probably would have joined Orozco in the winner’s circle.
