John Mayer had no problem admitting that he "was just a jerk" to his ex-girlfriends Jessica Simpson and Taylor Swift, a report revealed on Thursday, Feb. 7.
The singer spoke with CBS Sunday Morning in an interview that will air on Feb. 10 and spoke openly about his behavior with previous girlfriends, Us Weekly reported. "I was just a jerk," John admitted.
Back when he was a serial dater, not only did John compared his ex Jessica to crack cocaine, but he also criticized Taylor's song about him, calling it "cheap songwriting."
John also dated Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Love Hewitt, with both relationships also ending quickly and not on the best of terms.
However, now that he's in a stable relationship with Katy Perry, and recovered well from vocal cord surgery, John's looking at life differently, he wants to turn a new leaf.
"It's very liberating when you finally realize it's impossible to make everyone like you. I wanted everybody to like me," John said during the interview, "I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction."
