A special moonlight sing-a-long of John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" will be held at 11:11 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 2) in front at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., on the steps of the reflecting pool.
The event is being organized by Abbey Road on the River, which will open a five-day Beatles tribute festival at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. earlier that day.
“Most of us can’t make Yoko Ono’s peace-promoting events celebrating Lennon’s 70th birthday in Iceland and Liverpool beginning Oct. 9, so we’re hoping that thousands of like-minded people can come together to sing, dance and promote world peace during our ‘Give Peace a Chance’ rally,” said event producer Gary Jacob in a statement issued Tuesday. “We’re asking people to bring their friends, families, guitars, keyboards, violins, etc. All we are saying is give peace a chance.”
The song was sung by demonstrators in Washington, D.C. at the Vietnam Moratorium Day on Oct. 15, 1969, and has since been used as an anthem for the anti-war movement.
The Lincoln Memorial was the site of a "Restoring Honor" rally by Fox News commentator Glenn Beck last weekend.

John Lennon secret is almost out. Folks wake up and smell the coffee. Why so many Beatle, John Lennon tributes? Soon his movie will be out "Nowhere Boy". You see he has a DAUGHTER. Yes, a lovechild American born now 46. Her inheritance is due. The world will go crazy when they see it. It is a sight to see. We've seen Quinn, Dannylynn. Now a Lennon daughter. God Bless her.
If you even have to ask that question, then you don't have ears to hear, or eyes to see.
This movie is not all true, and if it is....so? Trust me, the world will not go crazy, or stop spinning for that matte.
Have a nice day...and go put on a Beatles album...and listen!
