Jazz lovers and beach lovers will congregate on the island of Tobago for a 9-day musical experience — the 5th Annual Tobago Jazz Experience, beginning on Saturday, April 19th and wrapping up on Sunday, April 27th. John Legend, Keyshia Cole, Brandy, and Earth, Wind and Fire are this year’s headliners for the event, which has previously included celebrity performers such as George Benson, Erykah Badu, and Chaka Khan.

Visitors will follow the music at events in five different locations on the small, 116 square mile island of Tobago, culminating in the top two events of the festival at Pigeon Point Heritage Park.

The beautiful backdrop for these concerts, Pigeon Point, has been named to CNN’s top 100 beaches list, and is also home to an iconic symbol of Tobago, its picturesque thatched hut jetty.

On Friday, April 25th, World Music Night will feature nine-time Grammy Award winner, John Legend, and American singer and actress, Brandy.

On the last evening of the Tobago Jazz Experience, Sunday, April 29th, singer/songwriter Keyshia Cole will perform alongside Earth, Wind & Fire.

Earlier in the week, visitors can “get jazzy” at other musical events held at Speyside, Signal Hill, Scarborough, and Castara.

While you are there, don’t miss the opportunity to participate in a unique cultural treat, the Buccoo Goat Races, on Easter Tuesday, April 22nd. Yep, you read it right! If seeing “skilled jockeys racing specially trained goats” isn’t enough of a draw, all in attendance can try their hand at crab racing.

Tobago and its larger sister island, Trinidad (located just 20 miles away) are the southernmost islands in the Caribbean. If you go, you will fly into Trinidad (POS) then take a 25-minute flight on Caribbean Airlines to Tobago.
