John Lannan leads Phillies in one-hit shutout of Pirates

The Phillies turned in easily their finest spring training performance thus far, as starting pitcher John Lannan helped the team toss a one-hit shutout of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Lannan allowed a single hit in three innings before he was replaced by Mike Adams, who pitched a perfect fourth. Adam Morgan added three hitless innings.

Michael Young paced the Phillies at the plate, collecting two hits and two runs batted in. The Phillies scored four in the second inning off AJ Burnett, the opening day starter for the Pirates in 2011.

The Phillies improved to 5-5-1 in the regular season. They will host the Dominican Republic at 1:05 on Tuesday at Bright House Field. Cole Hamels will make the start, while Jonathan Papelbon, Ethan Martin and Jonathan Pettibone will also pitch.
