If your children enjoy stories read to them, they will love the fun, new and free website Speakaboos, where stars like John Krasinski, Clay Aiken, Nick Cannon and others read for them.

As we find out from the Seattle Eastside Family Examiners, Speakaboos is a new website which offers your kids a "safe online environment" in which they can explore, play, and hear all kinds of different, fun stories. Fables, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, folk tales, songs and others are available for free, accompanied by colorful illustrations and read by celebrities like The Office's  John Krasinski (also involved in another book related project with First Book), Clay Aiken (who recently renamed his foundation, devoted to children with disabilities), Nick CannonKelly Ripa, Kevin Bacon, and other celebrities.

Individual tracks and full story collections can be optionally purchased, and the proceeds go towards the National Education Association and The Creative Coalition. Art projects and recipes are also available, and parents can also record themselves reading outloud.

Certainly, Speakaboos partners reading and fun in a great way (since, sadly, reading or even old-fashioned stories read to them are not so fun for many kids these days), and helps worthy charities while they are at it. And the participation of celebrities as storytellers makes the project all the more interesting, does it not?

What a wonderful idea-love that it will support the NEA also.

Am especially happy to read that Clay Aiken will be one of the readers. I have another book that he read and he is very good.

Sometimes people forget that he is not just a singer, but that he is also wonderful with children. The children in my class certainly did enjoy hearing him read.

What a great concept. It's never too early to teach children to read and enjoy their education. Nice to see that big celebs like Nick Canon, Clay Aiken, John Krasinski, and Kevin Bacon are taking part in this.
