John Grisham's "A Time to Kill" novel Broadway-bound?

A stage version of John Grisham's "A Time to Kill" appears to be making its way to Broadway.

A "pre-Broadway" world premiere production of Grisham's first novel is scheduled for May 6, 2011, through June 19, 2011, at Arena Stage's Kreeger Theater in Washington, D.C.

Arena Stage announced the news late this past week.

Grisham's novel tells the tale of a young lawyer defending a black Vietnam War hero who kills the white druggies who raped his child in Mississippi.

Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes, who wrote the musical "The Mystery of Edwin Drood," adapted Grisham's novel for the stage.
