John Georges officially announced today that he will be running for New Orleans Mayor 2010. The millionaire shipping tycoon with Greek ancestry came in 3rd recently for Governor but thinks he has a better chance at being Mayor of New Orleans. His toughest competition may be Troy Henry who is using actor Wendell Pierce (HBO-Treme) a local who graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School here in New Orleans as his campaign manager and lawyer Dana Henry a cousin helping to run the campaign, this should be interesting as both these camps should have enough dough to make a strong showing.

here's why i won't vote for John Georges: i'm not at all interested in how many times landrieu ran for office or not; what i want to know is what can YOU can do for our city. we really need a competent and compassionate leader and so far the only thing you've demonstrated is an ability to be negative and focus on other candidates. step UP or step DOWN.

I totally agree with NOLA lover. I have a problem with candidates tearing down their opponents rather than discussing campaign issues and strategies. What are you really hiding Mr. Georges or you trying to hide behind the mudslinging because, you lack competency to be the next mayor of New Orleans.
