John Densmore to appear at Alive Music Festival in Italy

John Densmore of The Doors will be the Alive Music Festival in Perugia, Italy.

Doors drummer John Densmore fresh from his Disquaire Day booksignings in Paris will be at the University per stranieri, Perugia, Italy on April 24 for an event called “The Jim Morrison Legacy.”

Densmore will be addressing the participants on “integrity and his moral battle against the commercial utilisation of music” said Giuseppe Sterparelli, organizer of the event. The evening will start with a screening of John Sheppard’s documentary on The Doors, following Densmore’s presentation there will be an interview with Sheppard on the social context of the 60’s and his experiences focusing on “ the relationship of a musician and a man with freedom of mind against the pressures of the music business.” The final portion of the evening will be a dramatic presentation of The Doors “Celebration of the Lizard” performed in Italian by the group Collettivo Ginsberg, Densmore will participate in this performance.
