John Cusack, famous for starring roles in films such as Say Anything, Grosse Point Blank and High Fidelity, has a new comedy coming to theaters on Friday March 26.
Hot Tub Time Machine, co-starring Craig Robinson, Clark Duke and Rob Corddry, is the story of four friends who travel back to the 1980's in a hot tub. Cusack has been on a streak of dramatic roles as of late and 'Time Machine' is a great opportunity to see him go back to doing what he does so well: comedy.
His most recent success came in the form of Roland Emmerich's disaster film, 2012. Prior to that he has taken on a lot of depressing, broken-man type parts. Martian Child, 1408 and Grace is Gone definitely showed that Cusack could tackle the dramatic parts, but America is ready to see him be a part of something more light and fun.
Cusack is so entertaining when he plays characters who are a little awkward and he is able to show a vulnerability to his characters. He has a rare ability to play roles that could be one-note performances, but instead brings his wacky sense of self to the part.
This is a film that by title alone, could come off as juvenile, but there's a strong possibility that this could be another entry to add to his catalog of hits.
