John Cornyn leads Steve Stockman by 44%, Stockman gloats

Glenn Beck ultimately did not get his dream candidate, Political Rebuttal regular Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), but he can hopefully take some comfort in the fact that the Tea Party primary challenger to Sen. John Cornyn opponent will instead be someone even crazier: Rep. Steve Stockman.

Unfortunately, Stockman has a major uphill battle ahead of him. Even more troubling, he seems completely oblivious to it.

Stockman's candidacy had been declared dead on arrival by numerous sources citing his poor fundraising, his history of legal troubles, a campaign office that was promptly shut down for multiple safety violations, and of course, his penchant for spewing forth absolute guano lunacy.

Now a poll, which was conducted by Republican firm Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research, finds Senator Cornyn leading the field with 50% in favor, enough to potentially avoid a runoff altogether.

In contrast, Stockman is favored by 6%. 39% are undecided, while 5% favor another candidate.

Yet, despite trailing his chief political opponent by a deficit of 44%, Stockman responded to the poll by taking to Twitter to brag about it:

Bad news for Cornyn: New poll shows 50% of Texas GOP don't want him back in Senate. And that's before they hear about his vote for Obamacare

It's long been known that Steve Stockman hates reality, but this is ridiculous.
