John Butler Trio, Tantric, and The Envy Corps add Central Iowa concert dates

This week has seen a great many new concerts announced for Central Iowa venues. The John Butler Trio, Tantric, and The Envy Corps were among those new shows. Here are the details.

Nitefall on the River announced on their Facebook page this week that the John Butler Trio (featured in slideshow) had been added to the 2014 Nitefall schedule. JB3 will play the Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines on Sunday, August 3. Nitefall organizers have not worked out all the details on tickets yet, but expect them to be in the $25 to $30 range and go on sale sometime in the next week or two. The Australian jam band's sixth album, entitled Flesh & Blood, came out in February.

The Louisville rock band Tantric will play the House of Bricks in Des Moines on Wednesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. The band that topped the Rock chart in 2000 with their single "Breakdown" released their fifth album, 37 Channels, in September of last year. Tickets for the show are $12 in advance through Ticketfly and $15 at the door. As For You, Syndrome of Fire, and The Fallen Truth will open the all ages event.

Central Iowa-based indie rockers The Envy Corps (featured video) will make a rare appearance on May 30th when they headline Wooly's in Des Moines. The band has spent much of the last several months on hiatus while working on other projects. The Envy Corps released their most recent album, It Culls You, in 2011. Opening for The Envy Corps will be Holy White Hounds and MAIDS. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. all ages show will be $12 in advance through Ticketfly and $14 at the door.
