Republican House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio captured the attention of the majority this morning when he spoke at the City Club of Cleveland.

The City Club of Cleveland has been around since 1912 and is one of the nations leading non partisan forums for debate. The free speech club has hosted a who’s who in politics including sitting Presidents. Therefore it was the perfect place for Boehner to share his political views; views that did not pull any punches.

It was politics as usual as Boehner spoke candidly about his disenchantment over the present administrations performance regarding employment and the economy. No one was surprised to hear the republican leader refer to the President’s administration policies as “job killing”. A phrase Boehner would use repeatedly during his address. Another speech highlight: The house leader calling for the resignations of the remaining members of Obama’s economic team; specificly naming Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and head of the National Economic Council, Larry Summers.

Boehner believes the country is in need of a fresh start in Washington. He supports an extension of tax cuts that in his opinion would alleviate economic uncertainty.

Boehner is the U.S. Representative of Ohio’s 8th District. He would likely become speaker of the House if the GOP were to win control of the chamber this fall.
