David Lewis describes himself as a devout Christian and pro life candidate whose promised that in his campaign against current Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio); he would air graphic television ads. Some have now theorized that Lewis’ sole purpose in running is to take use of a loophole that allows candidates to air extremely graphic ads as part of their campaign ads. Lewis is associated with highly recognized anti abortion activist Randall Terry. A look at Lewis’ website features graphic videos of abortion and shows fetuses that have been ripped into bits with body parts displayed. Ohio is currently considering what’s referred to as the “Heartbeat Bill” which if passed, would become the strictest ruling on abortion nationwide. Spearheaded by Jane Porter, Ohio is already in the midst of a heavy fight between pro life and pro choice groups. The bill, if passed, would make it illegal to have an abortion once a heartbeat is detected which is approximately six weeks gestation.
“David's goal is to make it a criminal act to kill a child from conception until birth,” reads the about section on Lewis’ official campaign site.
According to News Talk Radio Ohio, David Lewis says he plans on challenging Boehner’s support of a ‘federal budget that provides funding to Planned Parenthood.’ Lewis also referred to Planned Parenthood as the “largest killer of unborn babies in America.’
