John Boehner doesn't want to hurt government

No rational pundit, politician, nor citizen has ever accused Republican speaker of the house John Boehner of being a constitutionalist, libertarian, or even a believer in small government, but his comments regarding his disapproval for the fabricated threat of the sequester is evidence for even dye in the wool Republicans who blindly support anyone on the red elephant team.

According to this story by POLITICO on Feb. 6, 2013, Boehner had this to say: “Let me make clear: I don’t like the sequester. I think it’s taking a meat ax to our government, a meat ax to many programs and it will weaken our national defense."

Most people reading this understand that the sequester is an imaginary threat with zero chance of going into effect because the last thing those in government actually want is to reduce the size and scope of government, but that Boehner is so cavalier in his effort to save big government is exceptionally eye opening.

Obviously, as with all chicken-hawks, Boehner doesn't want to reduce the military industrial complex and that is really what his comments are about, but that he paid lip service to other "vital" government programs says he has no interest in pretending to care what his base wants.

It wasn't long ago when Boehner kicked Rep. Justin Amash off of the house budget comittee for not being a fiscally irresponsible "team player," but now he has gone so far as to play hero by trying to save big government. This really isn't a surprise as Boehner has always been a Newt Gingrich type Republican, but that Boehner is simply what he's always been, begs the question...how does he keep getting elected by a party who's constituants claim to despise everything he stands for....ahh, politics as usual.
